DRUGS
I used drugs because I couldn’t live life on life’s terms. Drugs freed me from reality. It gave me confidence, freedom from fear and worries.
I felt able to deal with any situation. Drugs were such a necessity that I ended up in prison for crimes that I committed. Over the years the
drugs weren’t doing what they did when I first started using. In the end I was drinking and taking pharmaceutical drugs as well. I couldn’t
stop using something, as my head was in turmoil and I had become so scared of life. I went into treatment and was given a solution to all the
different types of addictions I had. I have a 12 step program that has saved my life. Today I am happy, free and no longer have the compulsion
to use.
I have come to understand that I have a 3 fold illness:-
Recovery is possible 1 day at a time.
